2025 - Updates

We are getting close to 2025 Golf League.

A few changes this year are in the works. We are staying at 14 teams with a few changes.

Schedule posted below (subject to change - start date is weather dependent, Course will need to confirm which nine we start on, etc.)

Dues is $65 this year (made some adjustments to payouts, and software cost went up, secretary got a raise)

General league rules still in place . . .

  • can improve your lie within 6" anywhere except hazards
  • gimmes up to foursome (please keep skin game in mind if your giving a putt to player getting strokes)
  • no need to play stroke and distance - if you hit OB off tee, just move up and drop in approximately the spot ball went out.
  • There is a small range in between 1 and 3 . . . if you hit into this area, you can move your ball to keep from getting shelled with range balls - prefer you play it as it lies . . . but no need to get concussed.
  • Course holds water often - ball can be moved out of casual water without penalty - even in bunker. Prefer that you stay in bunker if possible, but you do you.
  • Play one type of ball the entire hole - Can't play the Unold method of distance ball off tee, then switch to softer ball for approach, then another for putting. C'mon man.
  • Please keep your card legible and total up scores. Circle Birdies please. (Secretary gets bitchy trying to decipher your chicken scratch)
Venmo your dues payment to Steve Copeland @stevecope5150. All winnings will be paid out through Venmo.

The equation for calculating a variation is ...
Variation = 'Adjusted Gross Score' - 'Scratch par'
3. Use the variations to calculate handicap
Variations 'used' are added together...
7.8 + 7.8 + 8.8 + 9.8 + 10.0 + 10.0 + 10.8 + 11.0 + 11.0 + 11.8 + 12.0 + 12.0 + 13.8 + 14.0 + 14.8 + 15.0 + 15.0 + 15.8 + 16.0 + 17.8 = 245.0

Then divide by the total number used.
Pre-Handicap = 245.0 / 20 = 12.250

Player A is a regular player, so according to the setup the Handicap Percent is 80%
Handicap = 12.250 x 80% = 9.8000 (Digits after hundredth place are deleted)

Final Handicap = 9.80

When converted to whole number, handicap is rounded to 10
