2012 Home Track Open
Where- Grand Prairie Country Club (aka Grand Prairie Golf Course, 3620 Grand Prairie Road | Kalamazoo, MI 49006)
When- Oct 7th at 3 pm
Cost- $30 includes, green's fees, entry fee to all hole events and a donation to Cooney's kids.
Added bonus this year is free round of drinks at the Hangar Bar and Grill, courtesy of
the "Ultimate Wiener" and his side kick "Timmy G". Those two just happen to be the
wieners of the 2012 Trunkslammer's League. It's good to see them donating their
winnings to such as good cause.
Rules- Fluff and Duff
Must putt all putts
.75% of your league handicap = handicap for the open
All ties result in a putt off on practice green
As many of you know, we are raising money for Jerry Cox's kids. We lost Cooney to Lou Gehrig's disease a few years back and all the proceeds go towards his children. It's a small gesture, but it's something I take personal; helping a friend's children when they can not. So, dig deep and don't be cheap.
This has always been the end of the golfing season for me. So dust off the clubs one more time so you can get your name engraved on the Cup and walk away in the stylish Green Jacket. Burgers, Beers and Bullshit will be had by all immediately following at the Hanger Bar and Grill.
I have missed anyone, please forward this to them. Please r.s.v.p. to me if planning to attend.

From our host, Dave:
That's right Randy " No gout about it" Mark wins the 2009 Home Track Open in stunning fashion. It was a three way tie at the end which forced a three hole putt off. Tom U., Randy and Caleb slugged it out on the putting green. Tom U being the rookie fell after three rounds. He just couldn't handle the pressure. Randy, who battled gout the entire week and was a possible scratch for the Open, stepped up to finish Caleb by the fourth hole. Randy said at the post interviews, " My game was on and so was the gout, but being the true Champion I am. I knew I had it. I'm a mudder and my mother was mudder... The slop had no effect on me, as now I'm a two time Champ at the Open. I wear the Jacket proud... but snuggly"
Final Net Scores-
Randy Mark 29
Caleb Scheenstra 29
Tom Unold 29
Thom Davidson 30
Tim Galovan 31
Jamie Cross 31
Mike Galovan 31
Dave Hoogerheide 32
Tom Cox 33
Marc VanLent 37
Thanks for all that came out to raise money for the Cox family.

2008 Home Track Open/ Pat Galovan Memorial Tournament
Sunday, Oct. 5, at 12 Noon.
$700.00 raised for the charity this year!
This year all money raised will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Michigan for the research in finding a cure for MS.
As usual all greens fees with be covered. We will be playing for the VanLent Cup and the Green Jacket.
Someone take it back from "Thommy Par 3", last year's winner.
We will take 80% of your handicap from the The Trunk Slammers Golf League -- and that is your Open handicap. You must putt all--no gimme's and fluff and duff style golf. Be on your short game because most Open's all are within 5 strokes of each other. A new betting system will be implemented this year, closest to the pin and greenies etc= $$$$.
Afterwards, all are invited to my house for complementary burgers/brats and beers. Yard game Olympics will be held and a Texas Hold Em' tournament. So show up and let me pay for your golf, food, beer and win my money. If you can't make to the golf then show to eat and play cards or jarts or just to win my money. Respond back to me if your in so I can get a head count and loan. Also, forward this to anyone in the league whose email I do not have.

What a great day we
had for the "Home Track Open"!!
For those of you who
could not attend, the "Home Track Title" came down to a three hole
putt-off between Jamie and Mike. Congratulation to Jamie for taking home the
championship trophy and the green jacket. Also, Congratulations to Mike Galovan
for his runner-up performance.
Thank-you to all who participated. Thank-you to all who donated. We beat last years "Home Track" total--we have a total of $650.00 raised. This amount will go directly to the Relay for Life via "Team Hope".
For those of you who may not know "Team Hope" is made up of my family and friends. We participate every year in the Relay for Life. The relay brings forth cancer awareness. The relay also honors cancer survivors and honors those who have lost the battle with cancer.
I also want to thank Dave for all of his work regarding the event. Dave not only covered all the green fee's, but hosted a great cook-out/poker party that everyone enjoyed!
I am truly blessed to have all of you as friends.
